I'm back

I put the d80 in a box a couple days ago, and it likely won't come out any time soon. I'm taking all my landscapes on film from now on, and the rest on a snazzy pocket sized camera, which I will be carrying with me a lot. Hopefully this produces a lot of good random stuff I would not have gotten with my slr tucked away in a backpack.

  1. Did you get a new/different seat? Is the couch gone?

Oh, and... Oh my god, that looks like some kind of horrible tragedy. What tragedies befell your poor camera?

  3. Holy crap, there's a brake cable on that! This is very good, indeed.

  4. The bike belongs to my friend Scott. I am still running the same set up with the same sofa seat. Still brakeless, but only until my Hombres and linear cable come from Empire. Bombing hills brakeless in this town is pure danger.

The lens is my cheap plastic 18-55 lens that I broke while at the Pictured Rocks one morning. Lakewood Photo sold me the mint-condition 50mm f2 lens that you see on the camera for $25, and failed to mention that it was a pre-1970s old style mount lens that wouldn't fit my camera. After trying to swap parts between lenses failed me, I just filed off this big metal flange that was keeping the lens from fitting. Unfortunately, with modern technology making things difficult as it often does, I can't manually select my aperture, so I am stuck with f2.

P.S. bike shots will be posted when my brakes are installed.
