These photos were from earlier this summer but I recently was just able to get my film developed. During our little drought earlier this year when we were blessed with weeks on end of great hot weather to ride bikes I had an opportunity to check out an old spot. It was the South side pool by my moms house. I scoped it out one night by myself on a solo session and realized that the hot weather had brought down the water level about 3 ft in the deep end of the pool and there was only about 3 feet left to be drained! I went back within a few days with Mac and we began to drain the pool. Unfortunately the place had been vandalized before we got there and also the neighbors ended up calling the cops on us and made for a premature end to the day and we never were able to ride the pool again. Luckily I left with new memories and some photos.... Enjoy!

12 for 12
This night was actually one of the first times that I met Juan, and aside from the fact that I knew he killed it on bikes, I couldn't have told you much else.
Long story short, Juan is cool as shit. Awesome guy to hang out and ride with, and he knows pretty much all of the spots in Boston. One of the many people I'm glad I came to know while living out in Mass. I miss all of those dudes/dudettes.

Mayhem and Tomfoolery Aside
Things are a-rollin'. Things are a-bouncin'. Life is getting itself back together. I still have plans on making a trip back to Michigan, but it may not be via bicycle. (We'll see how things work out, though. It'd be kind of fun.)
Got a new Run Jelly Pandas site up. Things are looking good. Check it.

"What do you really want Andrew?"
"What do you really want Andrew?" Honestly I don't think I know right now, and even if I did why do you keep asking me? I always have the same cliche answers for you, "a career that will provide a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction but will also give me options in life, a girlfriend/wife that is loving and trustworthy, the ability to pay off my debt and begin saving money." They are things that are constantly invading and enveloping my thoughts. I know they are things within your power to give, but I can't help to feel they are not things you want me to have quite yet.

Mondays aren't as good as Sundays (and some stories from the past).
Monday was pretty much a worthless day. Aside from getting some new Profiles onto my bike, the rest of it was shit.
I managed to crash badly enough on my bike that I went to the hospital. I'm full of scrapes and bruises. My wrist is pretty much useless. I lost a small pump that I purchased that day. I also am pretty sure I concussed myself, and I tore a hole in the T-1 hoodie that I bought the day before.
Now I am bored. So, in light of my uselessness, here are some pictures from some time ago, and some explanations/stories for each...

Why we ride.
I've always loved these kinds of little vids. It showcases a rider, but really isn't about the rider himself.
All of the people that I know that ride come from different backgrounds. Some share certain commonalities--like the town that they grew up in, or the heroes that they look up to--but most, if not all, are drastically different from one another.
The people that I ride with now, the riders from the edges of the Boston area, don't share much background with the people that got me in to riding (my cousin and friends from the metropolitan areas of Manila in the Philippines), and don't share much background with the rural riders of my birth town back in Michigan.
Mannerisms are different. Speech patterns are different. Clothing and modes of transportation are different (insert water buffalo joke here).
But it really doesn't matter where they're from--there's always that unifying idea of escape and decompression. That's what makes bmx such a beautiful thing. That's what each of us that rides shares in common.
